About Us

Maryland Premier Tag & Title has moved its Lutherville location to 22 West Padonia Road, Suite C253.  Maryland Premier Tag & Title is where we strive in providing efficient, friendly and fast motor vehicle tag and title services. We are open for business 6 days a week including Saturday with respectful and knowledgeable staff to assist you through titling and registering your vehicle. We are able to assist you in processing Title Transfer, Issuing tags and registration, and other tag and title services in as little as five to ten minutes.

With Maryland Vehicle Administration Representatives on call, we will be able to get you the correct information on the spot.

New Tags & Title

What do you need to get registered in the state of Maryland?

  1. Maryland State Soundex Number and/or Maryland License.

    • Please bring your original Maryland license to Maryland Premier Tag & Title to process the new tags and title.

    • If you are a new resident and do NOT have a Maryland License or Maryland Soundex Number, please email us a copy of your out of state license and a completed VR-005 form. We will contact you as soon as we get your MD Soundex number from the MVA and we will be able to process you tag and title for your vehicle at Maryland Pr emier Tag & Title.

  2. Title of the Vehicle.

    • If there is a lien on the vehicle, please contact Lien holder and have the lien holder send original title to the MVA (6601 Ritchie Highway, N.E. Glen Burnie, MD 21062) if the lien holder is out of state. Please fill out the VR-056 and send to the MVA (6601 Ritchie Highway, N.E. Glen Burnie, MD 21062) Attn: Out of State Title Unit.

    • If there is NOT a lien on the vehicle, Please bring the original title of the vehicle to Maryland Pr emier Tag & Title and we can further assist you in registering your vehicle in the state of Maryland.

  3. Maryland Auto Insurance.

    • Please bring the complete n ame of the a utomobile insurance provider along with your policy number and effective date the insurance was started

  4. Maryland State Inspection.

    • To get Maryland State Tags for two years, your vehicle will need to have passed the Maryland State Inspection to qualify. A failed inspection will not be accepted and an alternative temporary tag which is valid for 30 days is available.

    • Padonia BP Auto Trade also offers Maryland State Inspections and we can schedule your vehicle's inspection. Just feel free to give us a call to make an appointment with our Maryland Certified State Inspector.

Temporary Tags

What do you need to get a Temporary  Tag, 30 - Day Tags/Registration?

  1. Maryland State License and/or Soundex Number.

    • Please bring your original Maryland license to Maryland Premier Tag & Title to process the new tags and title.

    • If you are a new resident and do NOT have a Maryland License or a Maryland Soundex Number, please email us a copy of your out of state license and a completed VR-005 form. We will contact you as soon as we get your MD Soundex number from the MVA and we will be able to process you tag and title for your vehicle at Maryland Premier Tag & Title.

  2. Title of the Vehicle.

    • If there is a lien on the vehicle, please contact Lien holder and have the lien holder send original title to the MVA (6601 Ritchie Highway, N.E. Glen Burnie, MD 21062) if the lien holder is out of state. Please fill out the VR-056 and send to the MVA (6601 Ritchie Highway, N.E.     • If there is NOT a lien on the vehicle, Please bring the original title of the vehicle to Maryland Premier Tag & Title and we can further assist you in registering your vehicle in the state of Maryland.

  3. Maryland Auto Insurance.

    • Please bring the complete n ame of the a utomobile insurance provider along with your policy number and effective date the insurance was started

  4. Maryland Inspection:

    • Maryland Inspection is NOT needed to get a Temporary Tag. The Tag is only valid for 30 days and the tag is not renewable WITHOUT inspection. The registration for the vehicle expires in 30 days from the issued date of the tag and the vehicle needs to be inspected within the 30 days.

Title Transfer

What do you need to get a Title?

  1. An original title that is currently associated with the vehicle.

  2. Lien Release of the vehicle if there is a current lien listed on the title

    • Provide Maryland Notice of Security Interest Filing (SIF) for the vehicle ​ OR

    • Provide an original letter from the lienholder showing the lien has been paid in full

  1. Maryland State License or Maryland State ID.

  2. Maryland Auto Insurance.

    • Please bring the complete name of the automobile insurance provider along with your policy number and effective date the insurance was started

  3. Notarized Bill of Sale

    • For Vehicles seven years or newer, a bill of sale is required.

    • All buyer(s) and seller(s) must have signed on the bill of sale.

    • The buyer will be taxed the book value or sales price of the vehicle if there is no notarized bill of sale.

Registration Renewal

Are your Tags and Registration expired?

  1. Standard Registration Renewal

    • One year and Two year registration renewal are currently available at Maryland Premier Tag & Title and will be processed in as little at 5 – 10 minutes.

    • Registration will NOT be renewed if there are any outstanding tickets that need to be paid and/or any MVA administrative flags associated with the registered vehicle.

  2. Duplicate registration

    • Bring an old registration card or tag number and a duplicate registration card will be issued in as little as 5 – 10 minutes.

Tag Return

Sold your vehicle or want to cancel your Registration?

  1. To return or cancel registration on your vehicle, please bring BOTH of the Maryland Tags along with the Registration associated with the vehicle to Maryland Premier Tag & Title and we will issue a MVA Receipt for the Tag return

    • If you do not have a copy of the registration, we will still be able to process your tag return but you will need to verify your address.

    • If the vehicle still has a year of registration that is remaining on the tag(s), there will be a refund issued from the MVA. The refund will be calculated and submitted by the MVA and will be mailed to the address associated with the tag(s).

Administration Fees

Need a flag on the Tags and Registration?

  1. Parking Ticket and/or Red Light Ticket Violation

    • All administration fees that have been applied to the tag(s) associated to the vehicle will need to be settled before any registration renewal.

    • All tickets or citations need to be settled before the hold can be taken off the tag(s) to allow registration renewal

    • Administration fees can still be paid at Maryland Premier Tag & Title before the ticket or citation has been settled.

  2. Insurance Violation

    • If there is an insurance violation is administered by the MVA and you have had insurance coverage, provide proof of insurance to resolve the matter.

    • If there is a time lapse between insurance coverage, please contact the MVA's insurance Compliance Division at (410)-768-7431.

  3. Emission Test Violation

    • You will receive an emissions notice in the mail in about 4 to 6 weeks to the address associated with the vehicle after the vehicle has been registered. The emission test is $14.00 which is due at the time of the test.
